Overall, It can be seen from two charts that both the number of colonies and the amount of production fluctuated but they almost declined.
In the 1970 - 1990 period, the number of honey-bee colonies increased slightly from 4 million in 1970 to about 4. 2 million in 1980 and the opposite was true with the honey production that decreased from 130, 000 tonnes to 110, 000 tonnes.
Regarding the 1990 - 2010 period, It is obvious that both charts have a downward trend. The figure for honey-bee colonies dropped from 3. 5 million in 1990 to about 1. 7 million in 2010.
