The chart below shows the percentage of school-leavers entering higher education(ie, colleges and universities), and graduate earnings 1 year after graduation. pQE69
The two pie charts illustrate the total percentage of school leavers entering secondary studies as well as the earnings of graduates one year after the graduation, based on national averages.
Overall, the pie charts show that there was an increase in the number of graduates that preferred continuing their education as well as a slight growth in the amount of their earnings. In 1987, the total percentage of graduates who went on studying was only 14%, which is 21% lower than the index in 2007. In 2007, there was a very little change for the “More than the National Average” group, with an increase of only 1%. The most substantial change can be seen in the group of graduates earning less than national average, almost doubling from 25% to 45%. Unlike this, the remaining two categories witnessed a downward trend over 20 years. The group of students who managed to earn more than double the national average faced a 13% decrease in percentage and the rate of unemployed graduates diminished by 8%
