Teachers should assign projects to groups of students
Teachers should assign projects to groups of students RWRRM
Throughout history, education has played a prominent role in all societies. Due to its paramount importance academicians and policymakers always try to find and use more efficient methods of education. Nowadays, an argument has been raised among experts about whether should teachers assign practices and projects to groups of students or ask them to do exercises individually. I personally contend that the former is more beneficial for students. In the following paragraphs, I will elaborate on my viewpoint through two outstanding reasons.
The first exquisite point to be mentioned is that working in a group on a project gives the students the opportunity to intercourse and help each other to learn concepts deeply. For most of the problems, there is more than one solution and one way of thinking. The majority of students are inclined to solve questions and practice in their old fashion ways. However, teamwork and changing ideas give them the chance to be more creative and think in new ways. Take a personal experience as an example; In the second term of our master's degree program, we were asked to do a market research project in a team. I was surrendered by old methods I used to work with and I had no innovative idea about how we can measure the size of the engine-motor oils market. But some of my teammates suggested approaches that were completely new to me and I still use them in my professional career.
Another equally important fact which deserves to be mentioned is that working in groups prepares students for their future. Most of these young people are going to work in environments that collaboration and corporation are the essence and fundamentals of those places. If teachers do not help them to get involved in group activities, they might face many troubles. As another example, I have a colleague who is very clever and diligent. But, he is not capable of working with other people at the workplace and most of his ideas remain useless. He is not very successful in conveying his brilliant subjects to others; because he has not practiced this issue in the past. He loves to work solely, but I believe he does not get attention as much as he can.
To wrap up, I strongly believe that teachers should ask students to do some projects together and I think this will help them to learn concepts and ideas more effectively. The potential of exchanging ideas and the experience of working in teams are the most important factors which make these collective activities necessary.
