Svyatoslav Tulya essay attempt 2
Svyatoslav Tulya essay attempt 2 q8LVG
Nowadays there is a strong controversy in society on whether people should provide their personal information online. Some people are adamant that this is a violation of privacy, while others firmly regard this to be a beneficial practice. In this essay I will outline advantages and disadvantages that can be found and formulate my own opinion.
On the one side, divulgence can eradicate anonymity online, which can be viewed as positive. No longer will people be able to bully, spread misinformation and provoke protests in society. Thus, those who previously managed to get away with violating the law on the Net will have to face consequences for their actions.
On the flip side, state-of-the-art standards for digital society foster widespread online fraud. These novel vulnerabilities include identity theft, ranging from ID numbers to banking details, phishing emails and stalking, which, from my viewpoint, is the worst of all. It is truly disturbing that anyone who has harmful intentions might log in and find one’s addresses or phone numbers. Privacy is the next concern as the data stored online can become public data anytime if online security is lax and since the data is online, there is no way to erase it.
To put it in a nutshell, both sides seem to have their own merits. On balance, however, I tend to believe that these shifts have more drawbacks, since hackers become more prevalent and the overall safety is diminished. Naturally, in the contemporary world, to ensure safety one should be mindful cautious and not overshare, especially with strangers online.
