The maps show how Happy Valley Shopping Center has developed from 1982 to 2012. Overall, the center has been expanded in size and several new sections were constructed interiorly. The center's exterior has also witnessed the addition of a new parking lot and the drying out of the lake. Looking at the outside part of the center shows that the lake in the left upper quadrant area in 1982 has been filled up to give way to an extension for furniture retailing. Likewise, on the left lower part, trees have been knocked down and the walkway leading to the center entrance has been cancelled and a large parking lot was built instead of them. As regards the center's interior, the coffee shop that was at the left upper corner and the lobby area were removed. Nevertheless, the toilets and the elevators remained at their original sites as well as the large circular entertainment area in the central part of the center. While the food store was moved to the old furniture store location, the sports store is now at the original site of the food store with the electronic store further rightward to it. Finally, themed restaurants have been opened in a vertical series on the right side end of the center.
