In the future all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. The only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers. Do you think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages?

It is said that all vehicles such as buses and trucks will no longer need drivers and just passengers will be inside these cars in the future due to the advancements in technology. Although this development might have some potential disadvantages, I am of the belief that possible benefits will outnumber negative consequences. On the one hand, certain individuals think that this can impact society in negative ways for several reasons. Firstly, if all cars will be driverless, most people who earn income by driving may sacrifice their careers, resulting in financial insecurities. In other words, driverless cars can make many people jobless so the family members who rely on those drivers will be in trouble. Another reason would be some possible errors. Although cars can drive themselves with needing human’s control, it may have certain disabilities due to the fact that they are just machines. As a result, it can threaten commuters’ safety. Despite the facts mentioned above, there are still a variety of advantages of driverless cars. One prominent benefit is that this improvement can create more accurate society. This means that, when human drive vehicles, there might have some problems such as forgetting the direction and not knowing the route exactly, leading to delay trips. Moreover, all people who own personal cars would not need to learn how to drive a car. This can somehow save their time and energy due to the fact that they do not have to spend their precious money on driving courses. In conclusion, while I agree the process of cars being driverless can create unpredictable drawbacks for society, I firmly believe that its positive effects will far more outweigh downsides. However, this will still be an ongoing debate among individuals in the future.
