Some people think too much money has been spent looking after and repairing old buildings,so we should knock down old buildings and build modern ones instead.To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Owing to the development in architectural field, many individuals opine that spending high amount of money on old buildings for repairing and maintenance purposes is not good, so this amount should use for making new buildings rather than taking care of old once. This trend has equal advantages and drawbacks. In this essay, I shall discuss both perspective in forthcoming paragraphs. To commence with, it is irrefutable that technology affect all the fields in different ways. Thus making new skyscrapers by using new technology would be much better for future life of city dwellers. For example, for constructing new houses and building engineer use steel and concrete instead of bricks and wood. What is more, due to lack of energy like electricity, new buildings can be made energy efficient. Another pivotal aspect from the fact is space, by demolishing old buildings we get more spaces, hence the snag of deforestation would be tackle easily. On the other hand, historical monuments are another way to create revenue for countries. To explicate, tourism is a backbone of many nation’s economy. Therefore, preserving old buildings is not only good for country but nation also shows their rich history across the globe. To illustrate, most of European countries are generat their GDP from tourism industry. Moreover, history is the root of our past so it is also helpful for citizens to explore more about their ancestors by seeing this type of buildings. Altering old building to new ones is also causing cultural extinction. To conclude, though it is good to preserve our historic buildings, but new building is highly suggested because it takes our infrastructure to another level
