Health is the number one priority of an individual and also of the government. That being said, some hold a view that laws should be made to promote fitness, however, others think it is highly inappropriate for the government to intervene in one's lifestyle. In this essay, I will discuss both sides of the view and state my opinion on why regulations on health is unimportant.
On the one hand, a few side with laws being framed to control the unhealthy life that the populace is now dwelled into. People are occupied in their work so much that they rarely find time to sit and have a nutritional meal, resulting in ailments and colossol amount being spent in hospitals due to poor diet. A recent pandemic, being a typical example, which is spread by novel corona virus, was an outbreak of absurd unhygenic eating habits of humans. This scourged the world affecting businesses, jobs and lives. In urge to prevent such circumstances in future, It is believed that imposing rules will underpin immunity.
On the other hand, some citizens are of the opposing view stating rules are not necessary as maintaining one's health is a personal matter. People do not like being told what to eat and forced to exercise; therefore, interference of government is usually not welcomed by many. For instance, if a law states to eat fast-food only once a week, people will critisize the government for changing a drastic part of their lifestyle. It is difficult for people to give up (in this case, unhealthy life), what they have acclimated over the years under a regulation.
In conclusion, a healthy nation is an asset in various indirect ways. In this essay, I discussed whether laws considering health benefits be passed in a country or not. I opine that, imposing guidelines on people's lifestyle is not an essential step by meddeling in people's personal preferences of living.
