Some people think that it is better to educate boys and girls in separate schools. Others, however, believe that boys and girls benefit more from attending mixed schools.

Education has played a crucial role in each individual and has been an area of concern among people and society. However, there are various points of view about students’ learning environment. While a school of thought holds that boys and girls should learn in single-sex schools, others believe it is better to study together in the same schools. The purpose of this essay will have a closer look at both perspectives before a reasoned conclusion why I side with the latter. On the one hand, there are several plausible reasons why some people favor both boy and girl students learning in separate schools. First and foremost, this phenomenon may encourage each gender to pay more attention to their learning process. Studies researched in Vietnam in the 1950s-1960s show that students in single-sex schools have better learning outcomes as opposed to coed schools. In addition to this, some parents hold the opinion that they may have peace of mind owing to the fact that their children are not distracted by the relationship between boys and girls. Therefore, a number of parents have a tendency to register their offspring to study at such schools. Nevertheless, if children are grown up in separate schools, they will lose their interpersonal skills as well as cooperation with another gender in the future. On the other hand, it is quite straightforward to express several benefits as both genders attend coeducational schools. No discrimination is the first reason that boys and girls are encouraged to study at the same schools. In the modern world, there is an equal level of opportunities for both males and females in choosing their major. This means that boys will have the right to choose dancing or other subjects considered just for girl students. Other than that, it is a golden chance for them to have interactions with the opposite sex, which is essential to help them improve their communication and working aspects after sitting at schools. For example, if a worker used to spend a great deal of time at a coed school, they may have more experience in working with a female co-worker. He is more professional and sharp-witnessed compared to those who studied at a single-sex school. In conclusion, although the same gender educational institutes provide better learning outcomes and security, they also bring some drawbacks for those studying there. Therefore, it is more beneficial if students choose a coeducation system for their learning process.
