People have different views about the funding of national sports teams and individual sports. While some people disagree with the idea of government support for sportsmen, I believe that both ministry and other alternative sources should bear the responsibility for financial support to sporting activities. On the one hand, non-state institutions play a vital role in strengthening the athletes’ abilities in international championships. It is obvious that the sole investment from authorities is hard to fully meet the requirement for special training and specialized gear for sports teams and sportsmen. That is, government spending categories include a variety of fields such as education, healthcare and social security, so federal budgets could easily run out due to significantly sponsoring entire sportsmen. Hence, the financial assistance from such privately-funded organizations could help to ease the financial burden on the government. On the other hand, government incentives should be the main sources of financial support because national athletics generally represent the country to participate in international tournaments and uphold the honour of their homeland. In other words, national authorities should shoulder the duty of investing money in enhancing athletes’ motivation and ensuring insurance for potential injuries during the training process. Therefore, sportsmen and sports teams receiving help from the state would make every possible effort to achieve their goals owing to the government financial support contributed by citizens. Conversely, those who are national athletes and try their best to seek glory in their sports would find exhausted to continue their career without their motherlands’ contribution. In conclusion, while I tend towards the viewpoint that government help is necessary for sportsmen and sports teams to perform their best at sports, I would have to support the alternative sources of financial support.
