Some people believe that everyone should be free to make their own lifestyle choices, even if those choices are unhealthy. Other people think that the government should intervene to influence people’s choices, for example by putting high taxes on unhealthy products. Discuss both views and make your opinion.

While people have two different views on whether making lifestyle choices should be a freedom of choice even if the choice is not healthy or the government should be intervening on the type of choices citizens should be making by introducing some taxes on unhealthy items. Although authorities play a greater role on enforcing laws, I believe choices made in life should be the responsibility of each individual. Making a choice of what style of life to live is a natural created human right. How a person thinks, behaves, and responds to things comes from the inner being of a person and it is controlled by natural senses of a person. These free choices allow a person to express or do things freely for instance, I chose to be an IT Professional by how I feel and understands Information technology, and this made me to work extra harder in class and achieve what I have chosen in my life. Many people become successful in their lives because they live with their choices and that they make sure they take control of their choices. Despite people have natural rights of lifestyles, the government have major roles in creating and enforcing roles to its citizens. This helps a proper balance of how people in the country should exercise their freedom of choices. The government have also a big responsibility to punish anyone infringing somebody’s choices, for example in the name of freedom of choice, others may feel that they can even chose to be violating people’s rights by mocking and teasing others. With the proper laws in place, it will be very easy for such kind of people to be taken into court of laws to answer charges against fellow human being. In conclusion, people’s way of living should be own choice and that the government should be there to introduce laws guiding people on how to live well into their different societies.
