Should parents be obliged to immunise their children against childhood diseases? Or do individuals have the rights to choose not to immunise their children? lxAnJ
Health is the utmost important thing for survival of mankind. Nowadays it has been argued by some people that it is crucial for parents to get their offsprings vaccinated to protect them from various prevailing disorders while others think that it should be upto parents to immunise their young ones or not. However, in my point of view it is the duty of elders to take care of their kids. I shall put forth my views in the following paragraphs to bolster the above notion with some sort of examples. To begin with, children are the future of world. If their health is in good state they can concquour in any field of life. As a newborn and toddler having a low immune power, a child gets affected by various prevailing viruses in the atmostphere such as hepatitis, rubella, measals, chickenpox and many more. Immunisation is the process in which live or dead virus with lower potency is injected into body to activate the immune system. Children with regular immunisation has less tendency to develop these diseases. For instance, i taught in a school for two years where vaccination was done annualy. The school record showed children with regular vaccination didnot fell sick of any chilhood disease wheras those who hadnot get the jab got various kind of infectious ailments. For this purpose getting vaccinated during the childhood should be a compulsion for parents or guardians to attain a good immunity in their body. On the other hand, individuals who argue to have a right of their choice to get immunisation have an orthodox thinking that with time and growth children will acquire immunity by themselves. Moreover, immunity develops with time but some viruses may put hazardous impact on child's health due to which parents had to rush for the hospitals to seek help. For example, my neighbour didnot proceed for the polio vaccine for his 4 yeared baby girl and within few years she was affected by polio virus and unsble to walk on her own. Hence, vaccination should be taken as a serious activity by the parents. In conculsion, as there is a famous saying a sound mind resides in a sound body. So if body is disease free, mind will actively participate in everything. Therefore it should be a compulsion by the government for the parents to get their children immunised.
