Some educationalists argue that non-exam, arts-based subjects, such as music, drama, art, and craft, should be compulsory in the secondary-school curriculum. They believe that activities such as these can improve overall academic performance. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is sometimes suggested that students do not need to study art subjects, such as music, drama, art, and craft. Otherwise, educators say those are the subjects that should be compulsory in the secondary-school curriculum because they believe that activities such as these can improve overall academic performance. I believe that the arts can benefit youngsters, however, I disagree with the idea of creating arts programs with a mandatory approach. There are several reasons why I disagree that the arts should not be compulsory for secondary school students. First of all, the school's curriculum is full of important subjects with two blocks of social sciences and natural, and those are enough knowledge to support students in the future. Moreover, most middle school students are always tired of both school schedules and tutoring so they cannot arrange to add other subjects. Secondly, having extra classes in music, drama or art takes a toll on students' precious learning time. Ending class early to rest is much of their wish, but the arts added to the boredom time at school. Ultimately, I believe the students will be reluctant to do any of the required program tasks. On the other hand, I think that the arts should be popular in school because it is an opportunity for students with a passion for the arts to showcase their talents. The importance of artistic elements in both everyday life and in an educational setting. If life does not have music, no painting. . . then there will be no aesthetic beauty, our souls will no longer be able to relax and nurture. In the process of teaching and learning, students not only acquire scientific knowledge but also have to develop their individual's creative capacity, cultivate tastes and aesthetic sensibility, etc. painting, dance, music. For me, this is the right and necessary direction for the future generations of the country. Scientific knowledge and aesthetic knowledge have a relationship like two sides of a piece of paper, no paper will exist but only one side, no one succeeds by possessing only scientific knowledge or aesthetics. Scientific knowledge will help them have a foundation to appreciate the beauty of the arts. Art activities will give students creative and aesthetic thinking to increase the ability to absorb other knowledge. Moreover, after stressful classes, students will have time to relieve stress and regain their spirit. It is not surprising that students who regularly participate in performing arts look confident and gain valuable experience. As a result, it would enhance their other skills.
The above evidence shows that the inclusion of arts subjects in compulsory curricula is undesirable but necessary because students already have a full schedule and the extra subjects themselves will interfere with the regular curriculum. Instead, the Ministry of Education should change the arts subjects into a program that is both a compulsory subject and an elective subject so that students can both be provided with the foundational knowledge in enjoying and creating art and to be free to choose the art they love and to foster and develop special abilities or careers that they intend to pursue. Where possible, students should take a course on how to balance subjects that can support their development of knowledge and abilities.
