Here and now crime-related statistics are of ever-increasing alarm, noting that the crime rate is mounting relentlessly, therefore numerous countries are struggling hard to confront the problem. Lots of people are suggesting that the sole way to halt the issue is to reinforce the number of law enforcements on the streets. I completely disagree with the given viewpoint and this essay will explain the point in detail. First and foremost, this popular opinion of inhabitants stems from their superficial mindset. A group of people think that there is a strong correlation between the number of police and crime rate. They believe that more police recruited will surely deter the lawbreakers from committing crime. Furthermore, because of the supremacy over the offenders, it will be straightforward to capture the wrongdoers if they do offend. Recent reports have observed a decreasing crime rate by 5 percent owing to increasing police forces in VietNam particularly within the last decade. On the flip side, my individual opinion is that having more manpower is not the only way to diminish crime rate albeit its certain help to an extent. Other factors indeed should be taken into consideration also. Chief among them is the ethics of persons, which is liable to a prominent decrease nowadays. In fact, moral training has been determined to be an essential part of the curriculum in elementary schools in both developing and underdeveloped countries for ages, thus it is the prerequisite for children to acquire the knowledge properly from every source. To illustrate, Denmark, the highest-ranking country with impressive figures, has been an ideal place for minors to develop their intellect step by step. In brief, it is evident that if we only increase the size of police forces then it is not enough. Additional measures, such as moral training for children or prompt castigation for criminals should be taken so that long-term benefit can be attained.
