I've read an interesting article in the Internet that I think it will help you.
Firstly, make sure you write about yourself a lot. Explain why do you want to study the Spanish language and tell the tutor who you are. Show the real girl beyond the student. You need to be authentic, and enthusiastic; not superficial and simple.
I order to this, don't write and extremely academic way. Explain your intentions with normal vocabulary; don't try to impress teacher with a very, elaborate text. When they see that kind of texts, they use to ignore them. And, obviously, if you're going to apply for a language course, don't make spelling mistakes! !
