What do you think about respect?

Dear Sir/Madam, My name is Liliia Besklubova. Currently, I am pursuing the 11th grade of the high school of advanced study of English in Stavropol, Russia. With this letter I am writing to apply for the Bachelor of Engineering Honours at the University College Cork commencing in autumm 2023. The program represented by the university is a unique prerequisite for contributing to the needs of the fast-developing society thereby it is expected to unlock my potential in the field of professional and personal growth. Mathematical Methods for Engineers I and II seem to be exclusively appealing to me. It could be traced since my childhood, that curiosity in numerous technical machineries and logical sequences has been the permanent guest of my self-identification. I was strongly convinced in my preferences and at the 9th grade, I had to make a choice in the specialization of my future studies and opted for socio-economic profile, where the high school students have the opportunity to study Maths, Economics, Social Studies and English at an advanced level. I also find Engineering Computation and Problem Solving drastically gripping. In spite of the fact, that pupils at my school have physics lessons, the credits dedicated to it were not enough for me. Hence, I decided to take extra lessons in the above mentioned subject in order to pay there more attention to the practical part of it. . Due to the fact, that modern world is characterized as the fast-growing, IT and Programming tends to be an inseparable part of the 21st century development. In terms of gaining new knowledges in this realm, I took an off-line course in Python Programming provided by Higher School of Economics in Moscow in the summer 2022. Speaking about my academic achievements, I have participated in a plethora of intellectual competitions in Maths, Physics, conducted by my school as well as high-rank Russian universities. I was awarded the 1-3 places in Mathematical Olympiad at school in this academic year and I will take part in the final stage of Olympiad in Maths and Physics held by MEPhI in March 2023. As I have found, the University College Cork has been always concerned about environmental issues, which I find really crucial for sustainable development of future generations. I was greatly impressed by the fact, that UCC has the World 1st Green Campus. As a matter of fact, I took an advantage of participating in Model United Nations conferences related to this topic. For instance, it I spent quality time doing research for UNIDO committee in MUN held by Ural Federal University in terms of environmental problems in developing countries in November 2021. I believe that my knowledges would be beneficial for environmental community of UCC. One of the most substabtial field throughout my whole life was tennis. With the help of this beautiful kind of sports I learned how important is it to be determined and passionated about the activity you give output to. Victories on a national level led to my experience in some European-level competitions in Georgia and Luxembourg. Then, I had the unique opportunity to play and communicate with people from all over the world. Loads of tough matches, ups and downs taught me to fight until the very last point and, in the ordinary life to achieve my goals. However, the biggest lessons that I have learned from tennis is not a win, but respect towards every player, which makes your game graceful and beautiful. For me, it is drastically inspiring to find out that one of the values of UCC is respect.
