qualities that parents wish their sons and daughters to have YxpWr
The qualities that parents wish their sons and daughters to have – obedience, loyalty, respect – have not changed. Any parents will tell you that, like their ancestors they expect these qualities form their children. However, they always do not get what they expect.
Obedience seem to be the first quality that parents expect from their children. Even when their sons or daughters grow up and get married. Parents still expect their children to obey them. At least, that is the way ít was. Children these days still obey their parents when they are young. When they reach the age 18 or 20, however, they want to make their own decisions. They want to follow their own ideas even if these ideas are against their parents’ wishes.
Parents also expect loyalty from their children. If there is a dispute between families, parents expects their children to side with their own family. This is probably still very common. Most children today will support their family against other.
Last but not least, parents demand respect from their children. As children become introduced to non – traditional ways of doing things, however, this quality may not endure. Children sometimes see their parents as old – fashioned. They think their parents are too old to understand them. They lose respect for their parents.
In sum up, obedience, loyalty, and respect are virtues that are being challenged today. These days children tended to show these qualities to our parents less and less. I hope that children will abbey me, be loyal to me, and respect me.
