Some people think that giving students time during a class to discuss ideas with each other is a good way to help students learn; others think giving students time for discussion is ineffective or a waste of time. Which idea do you agree, and why?

Nowadays, more and more people care about the style of their child classes. And I think that giving students time for discussion is a good way for them to improve their studies. First of all, having some debates or conversations during a class is a good way for children to learn how to communicate with other people in society. Students will learn to hear other people's opinions and tell their ideas about any topic. Some students are shy, so this kind of practice will help them to talk to other people and explain their reasons to support their ideas. Secondly, this can make the atmosphere more active. Most normal classes are so serious and also boring. Having a short discussion with each other will help them to have fun and enjoy the class. For example, my chemistry teacher is really creative and very nice. He was asking students to be in some groups and have discussions together. All of the students in our school like to take his courses and listen carefully because students had fun during his class and we tried to learn as hard as we can in this course. Last but not least, group discussions during classes can let them understand the lessons more deeply. During the discussions, students can express their ideas about the topic and they can learn more things. At the same time, group discussions can let the students know their weaknesses and solve their problems through the discussion. And if the students don't have time to discuss, they won't know the problems of themselves and will never understand the knowledge. For example, my class teacher always gives us time to discuss, and this will make us think about the topic in different ways and make our knowledge becomes more and more widely. In conclusion, group discussions are beneficial for the students in many different ways.
