The chart represents that Japan’s population changes by age starting in 1960 and including a forecast to 2040. It separates the population into three age groups such as 0-14, 25-65, and lastly plus 65.
In 1960, less than %10 of the society was old people meanwhile %65 of the population was 25- years old. Until 2020, there were slight increases in the plus 65 age band, with one exception, between 2010 and 2010, there was a jump up. Between 2020-2030, the percentage stood at the same number, 30.
In the same year, however, the percentage of 25-64 were decreasing till 1990. After 2030, there was only a minimal increase in the group of 25-64.
On the other point, percentage of 0-14 years old started at 30 and had ups and down to %35 to %28 within 20 years. It nearly stood at same percentage of same number between 1980-90. Then it significantly went down to %20 percent in 2000. After 40 years populations of Japan, there was only reduce of 0-14 age band till the %10.
