Police and prisons reduce crime

Many criminals did the crimes because it is thrilling and challenging, others find that it is the only choice they have. It is questionable whether the police and prisons are a part of crime rate reduction or not while there are plenty of alternatives to solve this problem. Many studies show that cities where have well-trained policemen and strict punishments, people tend to commit the crime less. Not only because how they enforce laws and regulations, police and prisons also play an important role in psychological ways to decrease a crime rate. Clearly, policemen makes residents feel safe and criminal scare for the punishments, especially experienced and serious officers. On the other hand, it is impossible to be 100 percent crime free, although how strong of the punishments. The awareness also play an important role for reducing crime in case that people understand drawbacks to themselves, their family and communities. Moreover, provided that governments could get good consulting systems for people who faced stressful problem, it could also help decrease crime and also benefits them to cope with problems in a healthy way. To conclude, I believe that police and prisons has an effect on decreasing crime rate; however there are many other options such as consulting system and raising awareness which also have a positive impact on crime rate reduction.
