The two pie charts illustrate how distributed are the percentages of different industry sectors’ of the Turkey economy in 2000 and 2016.
Overall, each pie chart is represented by eight industry sectors and comparatively in the first chart shows that Turkish economy is explained mainly by Agriculture while in 2016 it is experienced by Trade, Utilities and Transportation.
If it is analysed these sixteen years, the Turkish industry passed from a strong Agricultural production (24%), also focused on Healthcare/Education and Leisure/Hospitality - both of them represented by 17% - in 2000 to an economy more diversified among all sectors where Agriculture strongly comprised to 14% of GDP as long as Healthcare maintained stable, while the Leisure case, it decreased three hundred basis points.
Moreover, in 2016 Turkey was already a more manufacturing country because the Construction and Manufacturing sectors increased markedly from 3% to 10% and 8% to 12%, respectively.
On the other hand, the Financial sector took more protagonism, because in sixteen years it grew 300 basis points reaching 8% of the total Turkish economy and asimilar behavior experienced the Trade, Utilities and Transportation sector a positive variation of 200 basis points, that means an increase from 14% to 16%.
