The given graph depicts information regarding the number of people living in urban in four Asian countries (Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia) between 1970 and 2020 with also a look to the future in 2030 and 20140.
Overall, the ratio of Malaysia and Indonesia increased in this period and a prediction that the interest will be rise in the future.
According to what is shown, at 1970, the rate of the people in Philippines and Malaysia is almost the same 32% and 30% respectively. The percentage in both countries rose gradually to reach about 48%. After this period the rates of Malaysia increased dramatically to achieve 75% in 2020. It is probably the trend will continue and will reach 80% in 2040. While the percentage of Philippines after 1990 dropped to reach 43% in 2010 and a slight increase occurred in 2020 with 45%. As the same of Malaysia the trend will complete growing to 55% maximum.
The percentages of Thailand and Indonesia were almost close with 18% and 13% respectively. The ratio grew gradually to reach a same percentage 25% in 2000. After this period the percentage of Indonesia increased significantly to 50% in 2020 and it will complete in the coming years to reach 60% in 2040. However the percentage of Thailand increased slightly to hit 28% in 2020 and the increasing will complete to arrive at 45%in 2040.
