It is undeniable that there are controversies about young people who are always referred to our 'pillars of future'. At their developmental stage, they are easily influenced by their friends. There are a myriad of views about whether peer pressure brings more disadvantages than advantages. In view of peer pressure can give more stress to youngsters, the disadvantages outweigh advantages indeed. With regards to the advantage of the pressures that students have to go through, probably the greatest one would to make the motivation for young people to try hard themself because never should we overlook the fact that peer pressure can positively encourage students to strive for a better outcome. More importantly, that would able to help them has a good result in their work, for example in school, students should make every effort to achieve effectively. Despite several positives about the peer pressure of young people, I believe the impacts of this status are more negative. First and foremost, peer pressure may cause young people to feel isolated or excluded when they don’t do as their peers do. If this happens in a classroom, the student affected by this feeling is likely to experience a deterioration in mental health, affecting their grades, for instance. Furthermore, as much as peer pressure can nudge young people in a positive direction, it can do the opposite as well. For example, when underage youth hang out with bad people, leading to smoking and drinking, and even dropping out of school. So, it could be argued that the issues caused by peer pressure offset whatever advantage produced. From what have been discussed above, in conclusion, these repercussions outweigh peer pressure’s benefits, so it is important that the young be aware of its potential effects.
