Some believe that people who make decisions based on their emotions and justify the decisions logically later are poor decision makers. While this may seem true, sometimes emotions are also important in decision making.
Decidsion based on emotions are not rational decisions and can often be bad decisions. Decisions made based on emotions mean that the results of the decisions aren't thoroughly considered, causing some to choose the side that's obviously worse logically. For example, if a lazy student was offered a chance to participate in a competition under the help of the his or her teacher, they would very likely choose to refuse the offer, causing him or her losing a good opportunity to strengthen his or her skills and earn something in reward. It is also common for people to regret turning down a great offer simply because they were in a short temper when they were given the opportunity.
However, if one does try to justify those decisions afterwards, then they might improve in decision making. By trying to justify their decisions, they would have to go back and reevaluate the pros and cons of the decision. If they had to try very hard in justifying the decision logically, they would realize they made a stupid decision when they were emotional. By rethinking their thought-making process afterwards, they would be able to classify good and bad decisions and learn from all of them. Eventually, they could become more contained with their emotions next time they are in a similar situation and would not let the same stone trip them twice.
Therefore, I believe the common ground could be better: one can make decisions emotionally on trivial decisions or when both sides are equally good and try to make rational decisions for more important ones. This way, despite the rather small impacts of the trivial decisions, people can still learn from them and not make unwise and life changing decisions.
In conclusion, even though making decisions emotionally and trying to justify them afterwards might result in some bad decisions,
