Essays: Areas of research to be financed by governments
Essays: Areas of research to be financed by governments aL7b7
The importance of financing research projects cannot be underestimated, as it contributes to the development of the world, we live in. From my perspective, the more informed, the more sustainable and healthier our societies are likely to be. However, there seems to be a discussion on whether the governments should invest more money, in green energy or human eating habits. In this context, the main question is which of these areas of study deserves to benefit the most?
To begin with, funding projects that will contribute to the preservation of our planet is, in all likelihood, the first measure in which governments should invest the public money. Were to reduce fume emissions, future generations will benefit from a cleaner atmosphere. For instance, financing research on how to implement affordable electric cars will reduce the amount of burned oil or coal; consequently, the air pollution levels will decrease.
In addition, something along the lines of implementing research on healthier diet habits should be consider. Not only should the projects in this field think about the theoretical part, but also the practical one. To name but a few, implementing workshops in which the mentor might well suggest balanced diets in schools and workplaces would improve the knowledge on the matter among citizenships.
Considering the above, I hold the view that if we were to tackle these two issues our societies would be both sustainable and balanced. However, due to the more direct impact on the preservation of our planet and the urgency of the issue, I would pay greater attention to investment in green energy research development.
