On the way of Successful Entrepreneur

MS. Shamima Akter (38) had born at destitute family at Kamalkhani at Baniachong Upazila in Habiganj District. When she married, her age was only fifteen. She has been living among Two Sons, one Daughter, and a lovely Husband isolated Village of Jamalpur at Uttar-Purbo Baniachong Union at Baniachong Upazila in Habiganj District. She started to struggle against Early married, Poverty reduction, Social Dignity, rights entitlements, and Social & economic development. Shamima Akter has been searching for alternative income sources and opportunities to change their survival life. Because her husband is a daily Masonry worker and had very little income, she had not been able to undertake the basic family needs. The Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) has been working on SHOUHARDO III Program with Shamima Akter since 2016. She had accepted BDT 6000 from the SHOUHARDO III Program and started backyard Chicken & Duck farming. After ending the two-year, she realized that it might be a profitable business for destitute Families & me. She had started again Chicken & Duck backyard farming in a relatively large size, as well as communication among LSP, DLS, UYD, NGOs, and Bank to develop skills and capital for starting the Business. During that time, she received sewing training, purchased the Tailoring machine, and continued dressmaking. Then, she received training from the UYDO and took a loan from Karmasangsthan bank. Finally, she established a commercial poultry farm in the Village. Every month, she earns BDT 12000 from the Poultry farm & Tailoring BDT 5000. She has purchased two Cow from family Savings, and Village Savings Loan Association (VSLA) shares out money and started Cow rearing. At present, Two Cow markets approximately BDT 100000. She has been involved in Union Management Disaster Committee (UDMC), Community Group (CG) for developing the Community Clinic, Village Development Committee (VDC), and continued Volunteer service at the Community level, stopping women’s violence and abuse, establishing the leadership for underprivileged people, Solving the community problem for reducing the Risk. As well as building networking and linking among Government, Private, and Non-Government service providers for receiving the services. She said that I had spent a very helpless time with our family members, and now, I am not hopeless in my life because I have always searched for earning activities and found DAM through the SHOUHARDO III Program. Currently, I have established the VSLA and inspiring about savings and including low-income families, as well as advocacy; we have received 10 VGD Cards for the extreme people. I would like to support my poor people by changing their social & econ life. I have been achieving leadership, providing decisions, communicating with the different service institutes, as well as increasing my social dignity. I anticipated that I would be able to establish my Sons and Daughters well through good education.
