As engineered food is remarkable while increasing foodstuffs, some people suppose that it should be banished due to its adverse impacts on health. In the following essay, both advantages and disadvantages will be discussed. On the one hand, this new type of food is beneficial while facing the rapid growth of the human population. In fact, applying modern biotechnology can minimize the cultivating duration but still ensure the quality of products. For example, modified strawberries in the northern area of Vietnam are able to be introduced to the customer all year round. Additionally, these fruits are becoming more attractive in the eye of the consumer due to the reason that the modification process enriches nutritional elements and enhances flavor. As a result, the productivity of transferred crops increases so as to easily satisfy people’s needs. On the flip side, the effect of genetically engineered foods is vigorously debated. According to a survey by biological researchers, it is concerned about related ailments while using the gen from viruses and bacteria. Specifically, these sorts of foods may trigger some potential allergies or rare diseases which do not immediately show symptoms after eating. Therefore, more studies should be conducted to inform the public about long-term risk of modified foods on human health.
