When to go to school is most beneficial to children is a heated topic in our times. Some people say/hold that starting school at seven/ at seven years old/ at the age of seven is the most suitable for children, while others argue that children should begin school earlier. About this debate, I tend to agree with the former. This essay will discuss both points of view before reaching a reasoned conclusion. Some people maintain that “earlier is better ”beecause from their point of view, children starting school early means that they can learn more than others who start learning at an earlier ageand win at the starting line. Moreover, they believe/claim that formal education can supply a good foundation to children, encouraging/motivating them to form their ideas, communicate and socialize with other students, and develop their knowledge. However, even though there are some benefits for children to start school early, it is also quite harmful to children, so the other side holds the opposite view. If children are brought into school before six/ at five or even earlier and are asked to follow the rules they cannot, they may become problem children later. Abundant evidence has shown that many improper behaviors stem from starting school too early. In the interests of children’s academic achievements/performance and emotional well-being, this evidence should be taken seriously. That is why the time of beginning school should be delayed until the age of seven from my view. In a nutshell, it is unwise to send children to school before they six or seven years old. The best age for kids to receive school education is six or seven years old when they are physically and mentally prepared.
