According to me, this is owing to advancement in media and technology and youngsters get far more benefit than those ostensibly being helped. I think, this is due to the fact that media nowadays, not only centered to city or country, but reached each and every corner of the world, with the advancement of technology that include social sites like instagram and facebook. These websites connect people emotionally from all over the globe and make them aware about the difficulties of poorer nations. Moreover, air travel is the fastest means of transport and is cheap also for the citizens of fully developed nations as compared to their salaries. Therefore, youngsters can easily reach the spot of trouble, after discovering it as they can afford it. The young people get way more advantage, comparatively to people who are being helped. because by involving in volunteer services, they gain confidence and also learn many skills. For example, a person who might feel his/her command over teaching skills is weak and have a long term goal to start an academy, may take tremendous benefit in the form of experience by helping the students of poorer countries, who cannot afford a mentor. similar the case, when you help in construction work. Apart from this, many people, who find their life dull and boring, also become aware about joys and pleasure in their life, while comparing to those whom they are helping.
