Celebrities whose great achievements in entertainment industries such as cinema, sports gain a huge amount of attention from people nowadays. In my point of view, I think there are a lot of reasons why people spend their time focusing on them and this phenomenon has some adverse effects.
On the one hand, society is always taking an avid interest in famous people because they have both fortune and fame. In detail, humans are likely to be attracted by flashy and expensive things, especially wanting to have a sense of belonging to a community. Therefore, catching that perception, public figures appear like mankind’s role model, easily attracting people. For instance, due to Kpop idols having both outstanding outlooking and exceptional talents, they gain a reputation and love from individuals.
However, focusing on celebrities can put some people under stress that is called peer pressure. While counterparts have a bright career and a huge property, becoming an influencer, ones do not have anything and struggle with making ends meet day in day out. Perhaps they think they are feckless and invisible on this planet.
Besides, following famous people can lead to uneconomical time-consumption of fans. They certainly allocate much more time to purchase their idols than to their occupations. As a result, their working performances are getting worse or they sink into a world that only has social butterflies insteading of putting effort into their responsiblities.
In conclusion, I suggest that although people pay attention to their successful celebrities, they should not allow it to occupy most of their time and their mind, if not they would face some downsides of this action.
