Modern technology now allows rapid and uncontrolled access to and exchange of information. Far from being beneficial, this is a danger to our societies. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Modern technology now allows rapid and uncontrolled access to and exchange of information. Far from being beneficial, this is a danger to our societies. Xw7Lw
Thanks to the advancement of technology, people are allowed to exchange and get access to information freely. However, some people contend that instead of being a benefit, this is a danger to our societies because of its potential consequences. From my perspective, I would concur with this opinion on the following grounds. To begin with, users are more likely to approach toxic information. It stands to reason that cutting-edge technology, especially internet, is a reservoir of knowledge which come from a myriad of sources. Some of its sources may contain inapproriate information and images. As a result, people may become corrupted due to the long-term exposure to that information. Another point is that people may lose their private information. This is because in some websites, there is a special device which allows them to gain access to users’ personal information. Take, for an example, Mr. Jason. In 2017, after getting access to Mr Bean’s death news, he realized that his information had been stolen and publicised. Therefore, with modern technology, it is easier for people to lose their information. Nonetheless, there are those who argue that the benefits of being able to access information can outweigh its drawbacks. Reasonable as it might be, it is limited because the consequences of losing your private information and approaching corrupted information cannot be tackled completely. To sum up, although it is undeniable that modern technology has helped us to have access to information, there are still some minus points that should not be overlooked.
