INTRODUCTION AND AIM: Covid-19 has created an important health problem affecting the whole world in a short time. This situation has increased the burden of health systems, caused economic losses, and created a significant psychological pressure on people, especially health workers. In this study, it was investigated how much the last three years of medical school students who had their education in the hospital environment were affected by the pandemic.
MATERIAL METHOD: 226 medical faculty students participated in this study. A questionnaire was applied to the participating students, and questions including demographic information, sleep duration, education-related questions and Beck depression scale were asked.
RESULTS: In this study, 113 (50%) of the participants were male and 133 (50%) were female. 75 (33. 2%) of the participants were 4th grade students, 75 (33. 2%) were 5th grade students, 76 (33. 6%) were 6th grade students. 72 (31%) of the participants in the study, 9) He had the Covid-19 disease. 94 (41. 6%) of the participants live in the family home, 25 (11. 1%) in the dormitory, 107 (47. 3%) in the student house. Those who say that it is the decision to continue practical education during the pandemic process is 185 (81. 8%) people. During the pandemic process, the sleep time of 123 (54. 4%) people has changed. In this study, the mean Beck depression scale score was found to be 14. 96 (± 9. 91) points, lap. When the results were compared according to the level of violence and classes, the ratio of 4th grade students to 5th and 6th grade students was found to be significantly higher in depression.
According to the Beck Depression Scale, there was no significant difference in those who had Covid-19 disease.
CONCLUSION: Medical faculties are faculties where an extremely challenging education is given. Pandemic conditions make this environment even more difficult. This study is an important study that shows how the mental health of the medical faculty students can deteriorate in this period when the conditions are getting worse, and to what extent this is reflected in human health and education. It is clear that during these periods, managers need to create the necessary conditions and take different measures to minimize the problems.
