Marriage was one of the most pivotal aims in society few decades ago. But people’s values are changeable, that is why nowadays marriage is a downward trend. Moreover, according to the statistics, 52% of marriages end in divorce, whereas 30 years ago this figure was one and a half times less. I think, that marriage can’t be forever in a modern society.
Firstly, love is not eternal, together with all the values and interests. With each new year of marriage, spouses’ relationships become more and more remote. Everybody lives his\her own life and interact less with each other. The extent of quarrels gets out of hand and couples don’t want to listen to each other and try to solve problems. Thus, wives and husbands are amenable to getting divorced.
Secondly, it would be unfair not to mention the fact that there are nearly 68% of cheatings in spouses’ lives, which is named to be one of the most frequent cases of getting divorced. That’s why marriages are ruined and in most situations, couples don’t want to live with each other anymore.
But on the other hand, there are few of families, who appreciate marriages indeed! In a nutshell, they always support each other and solve problems. They try to spice up their own lives with the help of journeys, dates and sudden presents. But anyway these advantages still don’t outweigh disadvantages in most cases.
To sum up, marriage can’t be forever in modern society due to mentioned facts. So it’s up to everybody to decide whether to preserve their marriage or not. Even little steps and a bit of attention to your significant other can help to prolong the couples’ union.
