Some contend that it is better to become friends in a face-to-face situation while countless individuals are actually making friends via online social networking and chat services. In my opinion, I agree with this notion since there is a large risk and a difficulty building a close friendship without knowing them directly. Although utilizing online communication tools to get to know people is significantly an effortless and seamless method, it can not to eliminate a risk to meet an unknown individual. Since it is not possible to make sure that their profiles or messages are true, there will be always a chance to get involved in crimes. For instance, after meeting via social networking sites, some cases end up with crimes every year across the globe. Additionally, getting to know each other via online communication sites may not result in building a tied relationship. Taking for an example of my personal experience, I met a person once and forever and have not seen and chat him anymore despite that we’d been chatting and even talking online several times before meeting directly. I thought that we had many common thoughts and might be great friends but it simply did not work out in that way. This is because I did not have a whole and precise information to understand a person beforehand such as visual, acoustic, and phycological perspective. In conclusion, I concur that it is more optimal to meet and make friends in a face to face situation rather than social online services.
