Many footballers get paid a lot of money. Do they deserve it or not?

Many people think that footballers are paid too much money for doing too little effort. I think this is wrong. Football players are people who have dedicated their entire life to this sport, and therefore they should be rewarded. Firstly, the rarity of talent and skill set. The talent and skillset of a top football player are extremely rare. Professional footballers are the perfect combination of genetics, work ethic, and mental strength. If they lacked any of these qualities, they would not have made it to the highest level. Moreover, footballers are role models for inspiring youngsters as they set the trends and the modes of behaviour, not forgetting giving pleasure to millions of fans. Secondly, hard work. Most football players endure a lot of pain and hardship to get where they are. They get up early and train for hours, even in bad weather, as well as travelling and playing in the evenings and at weekends. In addition to this, we have to consider the fact that their careers are so short that they have to earn a lot of money quickly. However, I also believe that football players have a responsibility towards society. It is fair if footballers are contributing towards a good cause. For instance, Dogba allocates his wages as a contribution towards supporting projects in Africa. This example clearly states that professional football players are a part of the community and they help society in many ways. In conclusion, my opinion is that the wages paid to professional footballers should not only be acceptable but also help in contributing to society as they dedicate their lives to this sport to encourage the younger generation and bring joy to millions of devotees.
