London is the capital of England, a vibrant and lively city and a must-see. The nickname "Big Smoke" was
given to local visitors as they approached London and saw heavy smoke covering the city, primarily
caused by the burning of coal.

It is located on the River Thames in southeast England, influencing its growth and in the heart of Britain's
most populous region. There is also the British Parliament.
(History)
The city of London was founded by the Romans and its rule extended from 43 AD to the 5th century
when the empire collapsed. During the 9th century, the city suffered many Viking attacks. Britain has
been without capital for years. However, the central government agency was moved to Westminster
near London.
(Transportation)
Transportation in London is very easy. The bus system has 85, 000 buses with more than 700 routes. It is
one of the best transportation systems in the world. In addition, the London Underground system is the
oldest and second largest system in the world.
