There has been a change in people’s shopping behavior recently as a result of large shopping centers becoming more popular as people prefer to purchase from these large stores instead of previous small ones. This essay is going to discuss its consequences and interpret why this development is beneficial. To commence with, it should be mentioned that supply is much more expanded in large stores. Thus, you can find everythings you need for your routine life in one place and you don’t need to visit different places to find your requirements. Therefore, time saving is the first advantage of this development. Secondly, considering that malls are more powerful in warehousing and they have more clients, they buy a higher volume of products from factories or distribution centers. As a result, their purchase costs less in comparison with old small vendors, so they offer cheaper prices to their clients. Last but not the least is about unemployment which is the most controversial issue. Many people believe that local stores' closure equals their owners and employees’ unemployment, but the fact is large stores generate lots of job opportunities that are more dominant in comparison with old ruined occupations. For instance, at first many people believed that Uber was a threat for old-fashioned taxis, but nowadays a lot of taxi drivers work in Uber. In summary, although like any other developments there are some people who are against or for it, its benefits outweigh its disadvantages and we should not put any obstacles in its path.
