letter to congresswoman over a traffic light non operational

Dear Congresswoman Hays, My name is Maria Robertson and I am writing to express my deep concerns in regard of a dysfunctional traffic light in one of the major highway intersections of our town. It is my duty as a responsible citizen to inform you of this worrying situation. The red led bulb in the traffic light located on the intersection of M1 and High Coast Avenue has been non-operational for over a week, which has brought upon much confusion among the drivers that go across these routes every day. There has already been a case of a driver that, with the lack of the red light, assumed he was not supposed to stop and continued driving until it collided with another vehicle. In order to prevent such type of accidents from occurring again I politely request that you immediately address the matter. You could for instance send the traffic control officers to organise the lanes in accordance to the other working traffic lights, at least until mainteinance can get the issue sorted.
