In the modern world, it is possible to shop, work and communicate with people via the internet and live without any face-to-face contact with others. Is this a positive or negative development?

As life progressed and times changed, humans around the world adapted and progressed to developing digital web spaces and the internet which allows people from different parts of the globe to come together and has thus changed the need for physical gatherings. We can now communicate more often and easily from the comfort of where we belong, along with getting even routine tasks like grocery, labor, and a variety of tasks done without the need for traditional social interactions. However, like each luxury withholds its pros and cons, the internet also doesn't lag, although I believe every user avails this facility according to their requirements.
The planet Earth has now outpaced and transitioned into a global village where individuals are in a hustle to get chores done at the speed of light and almost everything is available in the size of man's palm. With accessibility to advanced technologies like mobile phones, cellular tablets, and laptops we can connect with our loved ones any time we desire. On the other hand, it has also become easier to have official meetings, seminars, and conferences take place via virtual applications like zoom, MS teams, and google meet, etc. This advancement has not only shortened the duration of professional work but also made it possible for people to easily look up and buy stuff that they want which created small business opportunities for people and hence generated a source of income.
However, I think as we rapidly adapted to this relatively new system of communication, the mental connection has reduced and hence this has led to more people coming forward with mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Because of minimal physical interactions that used to happen more frequently for instance family meetups and parties as well as other social events so that families could unwind on weekends and friends could have fun together, it has significantly impacted the nurturing element of human interaction and led to isolation which leaves a bleak effect on psychological emotions.
Even though I feel that the progression to the latest trend has benefitted us by bringing the world close together, it has nonetheless also significantly affected its consumer's emotional health.
