In some countries, the government has tried to reduce traffic. For instance, they imposed a congestion tax during rush hour. Do you think this development is positive or negative?

Some countries have introduced “congestion tax” in order to reduce traffic on the road during rush hour. In my opinion, congestion tax is positive to improve the problem. The main good thing is it can cut down the traffic congestion. This will save people’s precious time and money. It is fully enough. But there are several advantages about the tax. I think I can categorize those advantages into the environment and the society. One of the strong point is it can be helpful to environment with the congestion tax. If we start the policy, the vehicles on the road such as cars, buses, and taxies will decrease a lot and make less gas which makes air bad. So, the air pollution will be improved. It can lead to health and quality of life. Next, we can consider about society. Government has more income because of congestion tax. They can reinvest in other part of infrastructure to make them better. For example, government could invest in public transit like subway and bus. Also, they could built a new road or widening the road or spend more money on maintenance works. By doing these reinvestment, there are more jobs created and this is another positive effect for the city. Adopting congestion tax can be large merit to various parts. Therefore, congestion tax is really good system to reduce traffic and should be introduce more countries. It is not only advantages to decrease cars on the road but also have a great effect to the environment.
