I think we should replace the restaurant with a childcare facility. KDA0L
In my opinion, it makes sense to replace the restaurant on the first floor with a childcare facility.
As far as I know, majority of the people working in the building have children and they'll find it convenient if they could leave their children in such a proximity to the office. As you might know, it takes at least an hour to reach the closest to the office daycare during the rush hours and many of us spend at least three hours each day on commute.
While many of the colleagues I know enjoy the food in the restaurant, there're many other places to have lunch nearby. For example, there's a new place that opened a month ago in a few blocks from the office. I might be pricier than the restaurant in the building, but I feel like it's nothing compared to the money we could save on gas provided that there was no need to drive such long distances every day.
Even though I understand that the employees without children might have some objections, I still think that the space on the first floor would be a better use for a childcare facility.
