Older people and retirement money
Older people and retirement money KDAk3
The older generation these days after their retirement from jobs decide to spend their money on themselves rather than the age old tradition of passing it to their children. But is it always the correct path to opt?
Firstly, the Government has provision for the elderly which allows them to receive pension every month without fail. It is then up to these people to utilise their money in whatever manner they wish to. For instance, elderly people in India usually visit religious places and pilgrimages after retirement. Hence, according to their point of view they are using their hard-earned money over things that bring them happiness and joy. Moreover, some group of retired men invest huge sums of money in aspects such as property, business ets. Albeit, some people may find it controversial but it is eventually for their long-term benefit.
In addition, there are a large group of people who do volunteer work and donate large sums of money across multiple platforms and organisations which is their way of giving back to the society. Infact, if they make a conscious decision to spend their money on other things, no one has the authority to question them. Moreover, the kids should not depend on parents money and rather find a way to be financially independent by themselves.
In my opinion, I would lean towards as this step being a positive development as the elders can look after themselves when they have full control over their resources as well as spend it on ventures that they have always wanted to do.
