Review Interaction Design Foundation
Review Interaction Design Foundation nOW7P
For several days, I immersed myself in the wealth of UX knowledge on IDxF (Interaction Design Foundation). After completing four courses on this platform, I’d like to share my experiences with you. Here we go!
Let’s see the course list that I experienced:
Journey mapping
Design Thinking Ultimate
Mobile UX Design
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
Contents play a vital role in each MOOC platform which is the reason I chose the IDxF for learning UX. Based on your career path, the platform suggests the list of courses correspondingly. It supports various roles: UX Designer, UX Researcher, Marketer, Product Manager, Front-End Developer, etc.
Last year, I spent three months on a UX specialization on Coursera. I learned the foundation knowledge about UX. But I don’t know where I can find in-depth courses to continue my curiosity. The IDxF provides a lot. It is worth diving into all four levels of the platform: foundation, beginner, intermediate, and advanced. By separating smaller topics, learners get benefit from in-depth lessons. Some courses like that include emotional in design, accessibility, user research, etc.
Besides, the website is also another part that I need to mention. I found the engagement when experiencing it. The granularity in the website design encourages learners to find joys during lessons.
Conducting UX master classes is another advantage of the site. They are webinar sessions from design masters of big corps.
It also includes some drawbacks:
Some lessons are too long (up to 30 or 40 minutes to watch a video). Compared with other MOOC platforms, the lesson duration is not over 15 minutes if it is required to watch a video.
If your subscription is expired, you will not access those courses and the material learned.
Some lessons include a video only. It could be better if can be attached some points summarized from the video.
