It is true that in order to maintain good health human beings do not need to eat meat because they can get their food needs from meatless products and substitutes. It is a fact that a vegetarian diet is as healthy as a diet containing meat. I shall now give my opinion as to argue for or against the above opinion in the following essay. Firstly, human beings are highly evolved species on the planet and top of the food chain. It is interesting to note that vegetarians do not eat foods produced by killing animals for moral or health reasons. They think it is unnecessary to kill animals for food because it also deserves equal rights to live on our planet. According to them, a healthy diet can be achieved without eating meat, and avoiding, it reduces diseases like cancer. It is shocking to note that, a study carried out by the WHO, showed that a person consuming red meat frequently, has a high risk of getting colon cancer. Apart from this, many people question the treatment of animals in factory farms, because these days many supplements are given to the animals for enormous muscle growth which are harmful to the meat eaters. Secondly, people nowadays can maintain good health by exercising, following a good diet, and living a peaceful life. It is interesting to note that, many products are high in protein like chickpeas and panner, and more vegetarian these days considering these products as an alternative to meat. Let us not forget that following a vegetarian diet result in easy digestion, lowers blood pressure, and decreases the risk of cancer. We painfully note that a large amount of our present population has heart disease due to obesity. So, this diet helps to reduce weight, because of its low-fat content. Thirdly, a meat diet can get a balanced diet that can include rich protein, and diets like paleo and keto proved that they are good for health as a result it is followed by many people. Based upon the above facts, I wish to conclude my opinion that human beings do not need to eat meat to maintain good health and a vegetarian diet is a healthy diet.
