HOW MASS MEDIA INFLUENCE PEOPLE’S IDEA? gnbBl
In previous decades, there was a rapid growth of interest in spending time watching, listening, reading, and interacting with media; hence, mass media has the power to change perceptions. In this essay, I will discuss some of the reasons why I strongly agree with this notion.
First and foremost, people's views are unconsciously influenced by being exposed repetitively to mass media. Undoubtedly, children's early exposure to violent content through television or games is said to be highly detrimental to their moral development as they would imitate what they have observed in media communication. Inappropriate behavior or offensive language will gradually sink into their thoughts and develop their traits badly. Secondly, the mass media also makes the most of the crowd by using the "bandwagon effect" to influence human emotion. Another way is that the media takes advantage of KOL's influence to influence people's mindsets. It is irrefutable that a fan is likely to act toward their idol, as a result, a brand pay for celebrities to endorse their product. In particular, Son Tung MTP has endorsed for oppo brand's smartphone, it is acknowledged by some that they purchase that product because their idol advertises it. By using this way, the media has become one of the most powerful tools to guide public opinion.
