The database contains information about the underground railway system in six major cities all over the world.
The study was a comparison on when was the train system has been done, how far it travels and how many passengers it carries per year.
The cities involved in the survey are London of United Kingdom, Paris of France, Tokyo and Kyoto of Japan and Washington DC and Los Angeles of United States of America. In the six cities Tokyo has the oldest underground railway system it started to operate since 1927 and the newest from all of them is the Los Angeles subway which has been established only in 2001.
Regarding the train route, it was revealed that London has the farthest route of 394 KM where they can take the passengers but although London it only transported on an average of 775M commuters per year compare to Tokyo which only has 155 KM route and is being used by 1927M a year but one possible reason could be the difference of the cities population.
