A glance at the bar chart compares the percentage of car used worldwide by five regions in 2008 and 2016. Overall, Europe utilized the most cars in 2008, while North America became the best using area in 2016. In addition, Europe witnessed a significant decline throughout the period, while the opposite trend was true for others.
In 2008, Europe used close to 59%, which was almost double the proportion cars used by North America. Over the following eight years experienced a considerable decrease and accounted for 35% in the rate of global car sharing usage in Europe, whereas North America saw a sharp rise in its usage by a similar amount.
Regarding South America, Australia and Asia, we can see three areas began at the same percentage merely 3% in 2008. After that, in 2016, three regions showed a moderate increase with the figure reaching 4%, 5%, and 6% respectively.
