In 1970, 1 million males did part-time education and around 700 thousand
females. In both sexes, this was the year when the least number of students
did full-time education, approximately 100 thousand each. After ten years, in
1980, the rate of men involved in part-time education dropped to nearly 850
thousand, whereas in the same year, women's number rose to around 800
thousand. The number of men who did full-time education slightly decreased.
