fuel types for producing electricity
fuel types for producing electricity 7M6
The table shows various source of fuel for producing electricity and their percentage use in five Asian countries in 2005. Generally, the five countries showed a significant difference in their pattern of consumption. First, let us look at nuclear fuel. Japan uses it more than the others and South Korea is the second country uses the nuclear fuel, on the contrary it is not most used fuel type in the South Korea. Thailand has the lowest rate of using nuclear fuel by 0 percent. Malaysia and Singapore has almost the same rate of using it. Yet, they have highest rate of using coal and lignite fuel with rate of 61 and 42 respectively. Other three countries have lowest rate of using them.
Usage of petroleum products, Thailand produced 36% of its electricity from this. To compare, other contries only produced 3% or less of their electricity from this fuel. However, hydro and wind reveal another pattern with South Korea producing almost half of its electricity. It is twice as high as Thailand which had the second highest percentage. Finally, Singapore, Thailand and japan are producing big amount of electricity by using other fuels. In a nutshell, it can be seen that there were multiple ways to provide fuel for producing electricity for these five Asian countries.
