Food is one of the most essential ingredients that give energy to human beings. Nowadays, it has been far cheaper than in the past due to improved fertilizers and developed machines. Even though the quantity of food might be increased, unfortunately, the quality of it might be affected. This essay will describe the advantages of cheap production of food as well as the drawbacks from this rapid production.
On the positive side, farmers now have a wide range of selection, in terms of seeding, irrigation and use of pesticides and fertilizers. These unnatural innovations has saved people from tedious work and in the mean time increased markablely the production. In this way, food production is increased and the production cost is reduced, which allows food to be cheaper than before. Another reason is that machines help to cut the unnecessary trouble that may be caused by human error. As a consequence, people will gain productivity if it well-managed by the machine.
On the order hand, there are many drawbacks due to the fact people’s health have significantly being suffered from these new technological innovations and, especially, fertilizes. For instance, according to the recent statistic, the more people use fertilizes to grow the food, the more individuals suffer cancer. Furthermore, numerous babies were born with disabilities that might be due to the diet of their parents, particularly, the quality of food.
It cannot denied that fertilizers and agricultural machinery contribute to mass production and save more lives than before. however, the quality of food dramatically decreases when people use these new modern improvements. I believe that these advantages from such production do not overweight the drawbacks, for example, more individuals suffering from cancer.
